Founded in 2019, BHI is a global Authority that connects nations, partners and people to Conserve Biodiversity, keep the world stable and secure a future – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of a healthy, prosperous and equitable planet.

What we do
BHI leads global efforts to conserve biodiversity. We direct and coordinate the world’s response to Biodiversity loss and Climate Change . And we promote healthier ecosystems – from Advancing a rights based Approach ( right to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment), builidng a green and inclusive economic systems to securing species, ecosystems and People. Our targets outline an ambitious plan for the world to achieve a thriving planet for all using a science-based policies and programmes.

Working with Member States across 6 regions and on the ground in 150+ locations, the BHI team works to inspire and catalyze urgent and effective actions to protect and restore biodiversity, empowering communities and promoting a healthy, prosperous and equitable planet.
